Dorothy Baxter's notes (Dodo) say Uncle Fred alwys refered to Dodo's Grandfather (Fredrick Snr.) as "The little old man" and that one of his favourite expresions was "Beuly daminit".

Notes for CHARLES KILLICK:

Dorothy Baxter's (Dodo's) notes say: "I forget this wife's name now. They were always very aloof - but I was at their house in tonbridge (nr. Barder Rd.) once or twice - they had eight children - six girls and two boys. Uncle Charles was short (and I thought) did not resemble any of his brothers and sisters. I was about nine or ten when he died. He went into the garden one morning to see how things were growing and died there and then (Died at 47 or 48 years old). I cannot remember all the girls' names except the two youngest Edith and Ethel - the latter is the one who often visited Ella and Lena."

Notes for ROY KILLICK:

Dorothy Baxter's notes say that Roy, as a Corporal, won a Military Medal and was a Captain when he left the army. He was killed in a road accident shortly after his discharge.

 

"Roy joined as a private and came out as captain. - won M.M. for bravery when a corporal. When demobbed went into a farm (as pupil) at Rambridge just outside Andover, Hants. Was in a side-car of a motor cycle that ran into a stationary lorry (with only one rear light) in Junction road and was killed - or rather did not regain conciousness and passed away in Andover War Memorial Hospital. He never visited us! Maybe never knew we were there.

Notes for WILLIAM KILLICK:

According to Dorothy Baxter's notes, William (known as Bill) Killick was in the Air Force in the 1938 war and came out with the rank of Flying Officer. I think his wife Ena divorced him and as far as I know he still lives in Kenya.

Dorothy Baxter's notes read: " Dorothy known as Dolly so she wasn't mistaken for me was about 70 when she died. Norah looked after her so faithfully and although Dolly was very unsteady on her feet she was very bright and a good conversationalist. She read a lot, did embroidery and had her own records etc....because she was never able to work."

Dorothy Baxter's notes read: "Hilda, known as Sildy, died of a miscarriage aged 22. she left behind three children - twins, the same age as mine, and a boy of 18 months. One of the twins (the girl) had terrible `fits' as we used to call them) all her life and died of Tubercular Meningitis at the age of 15 years. We prayed for her to die because she had become an imbecile."

Dorothy Baxter's notes say Ron Killick died of wounds (after about 4 years) from the 1914 war.

 

"Ron - about three years older than me. My very first love - I was always so thrilled to get letters from him when he went to France early in the 1st. war. I went to see him in a hospital in 1919 on my way to Finkley - from then on he became gradually worse - I assume from his wounds. He was married to Beat Covenar at that time and as I recall she would not let anyone see him - though he was at home. In that London hospital was the last time I ever saw him.

Dorothy Baxter's (Dodo) notes say of Charlie: " Charlie the eldest went into the navy as a young boy. I lost track of him and his wife after Uncle Charlie died."
